The Power of One is a video series capturing monologues from every Shakespeare play in the Canon. In this new era of social distancing, the project exemplifies how one person, one soliloquy, one moment, can make a difference. This 41-week project showcases just some of Newfoundland and Labrador's actors and musicians set against the backdrop of some of the province's most stunning locations, and its most fascinating history. Use the links below to see the monologues and learn a little more about the artists and the places we've been. |
The theatres may be closed, our costume racks and props tables are bare, a resounding quiet fills our empty space but we still yearn to tell a story.
“The miserable have no other medicine but hope.”
And so we hope that you will join us on this journey, as we explore all of Shakespeare’s plays, nestled in our province’s beautiful spaces, as performed by our treasured artists. And that by the journey's end, we will find ourselves back together, in person, audience and artists, for a great play.
